Below is the testimonial from Linda McGary, mother to Jenna McGary, first child to recieve a tennis scholarship, while under the instruction of AMP, Inc.

"I know all of you know Jenna and I thought it would be helpful for you to hear of our journey with Coach Chad and also the outcome. First, because I am SO PROUD and EXCITED for Jenna, I will tell you the outcome:

She has been approached by UNC-Pembroke to play tennis for them, and has been offered a substantial scholarship to do so.....she will be signing her letter of intent this Wednesday!!! Ok, now to how she got there.....fun times, struggles, anger, disappointment, frustration, more fun times, hours on the court, a STRONG tennis family bond, and a coach who NEVER gave up on her (although strangulation might have crossed his mind every once in a while)...

Jenna did not have the advantage most of you players and parents have in that she didn't start playing tennis until fall of 8th grade...then did not start working with Coach Chad and the academy until the following summer...so, as you can see from the calculations she just started her 4th year of academy, lessons and competitive tournaments...quite a leap in a short period of time...

Jenna and Chad have put a lot of hours in on and off the courts...there have been times when both were ready to give up on each other, but through communication and a little give and take on each side, we (Chad, Jenna and Jay and I) were able to work things through and continue to move in a positive, growth direction...Chad would always give us a call when there were issues and would make sure that all was well with school, home, etc. (things that would affect her court play and attitude) before narrowing it down to JUST tennis...Chad also has grown by LEAPS AND BOUNDS (LOL) in learning how to deal with teenage girls and hormone fluctuations, attitudes, etc....we are VERY fortunate to have someone who cares so much about our children not only on the court, but off the court.

During the first 2 1/2 years of Jenna's working out with Chad and the Academy, I sat on the sidelines and watched, and also learned more than I knew there was to learn about tennis...and also about the interaction Chad has with his group...I was also there for her private lessons, which in hindsight I can now tell you are so VALUABLE and NECESSARY for competitive play and growth....This was important for me to see and learn, because I could then understand Jenna's frustrations and anger (whether actual or just in her thoughts)and that was how we could sit down and work out any issues...know that what your child's perspective is of themselves on the court is not necessarily what took place or what is actually happening...your child will most likely tend to be highly critical of their game, strokes, etc... while Chad will tell you they are improving, or they need more work, or sometimes they just need a DEEP breath and a day off...(this is also something that you need to make sure your child does not use as any excuse, either-LOL

There seems to be so much more I could tell you, but the point I really wanted to make is that you, your child and your family are getting a GREAT deal by having Chad as your coach...know that if there are family issues, financial issues, etc. he is willing to listen and to work with you in order to have the BEST for YOUR child...please know that EACH of your children are dear to him...he is PASSIONATE for tennis and also PASSIONATE for his KIDS!!!

I am proud to know Chad as a Coach, but also as a friend of our family...(I do talk to him more than my own 2 older sons-LOL)...

So, THANKS COACH CHAD, for helping to make one of Jenna's goals and dreams a reality...THANKS, for sticking with her through the tough times,  THANKS, for REALLY listening to her and trying to understand her thoughts and feelings, THANKS for the multitude of hours that you invested in our child....and THANKS for being a friend.....WE LOVE YOU!!!"

Below are further comments from clients of AMP, Inc. and
parents of young people enrolled in the ACADEMY.

“Chad Oxendine's presence at the tennis center and at other locations around our city is a refreshing change from the usual tennis professional. Chad Oxendine is the best instructor I have ever had.  More important than that are his Christian values. Most teachers of tennis can teach backhands, forehands, serves and such, if they have had proper training.  Chad does this very well in instructing our youth.  It is the way he leads his life and the fine example and role model he can be for our city's children, that I think is important.”

Anna Robinson, Concord, NC

“I met Chad almost two years and he was so passionate about his idea of bringing tennis to the community, it motivated me to get involved with the sport after 18 years.”

Cheryl Deaton, Kannapolis, NC

“Chad has not only helped me with my tennis, he has reinforced in me a sense of community, and a new understanding of the importance of organized sports within a community.  Chad’s work with the children enrolled in his Academy and the children enrolled in the city summer programs is tremendous.  He brings programs to the public courts that have historically been available only to private clubs.  Chad is a hard working driven young man with a vision, and I am proud to call him a friend."

Bruce Harrell, Concord, NC

"Chad goes the extra mile communicating with all his players and is very passionate about servicing his customers. I expect you will develop an excellent business and professional relationship with Chad"

Charlie Ruddy, President, TennisConnect, Greensboro, NC
